I'm late! Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Due to the fact that I did not get home until midnight last night, I'm late on my YouTube Review.

Here are some of the gems that were posted in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day by the three lovely, hilarious ladies I can't get enough of. You have to start with Mamrie's video in order to get the full effect of the next two. I promise it's worth it.

There is nothing more spectacular than a genuine reaction to something potentially bad happening. I've watched this video several times and each time, I laugh.

I think Hannah doesn't understand how quarters works...

Everyone loves a good limerick.

Three friends got together to have fun.
Something bad happened that made one want to run.
Hannah kept chill while Grace lost her sh*t.
The accident turned into a good little bit.
And now the drinking is done.

Yeah, I struggled for that last line. You come up with a limerick. It's kinda hard.

Hope you had a safe and happy St. Patrick's Day!

Creatives Being Creative

In the past year, people who began their creative career on YouTube have been writing books. From musicians like Austin Mahone to beauty gurus like Michelle Phan.

There have also been several in between from cookbooks to interactive diaries to life advice.

I love the community that YouTube has built that encourages its creators to go beyond online video to other outlets.

I'm a consumer of all of it. I watch their channels. I buy their merch. And I've bought a few books.

The politics and branding behind some of it makes me cranky. I'm choosing to ignore it. I love Zoe Sugg and while I did not purchase her book (mainly because I needed a break from YA novels), she is a kind, beautiful soul who ventured into a new industry. I still love and support her.

It makes me a little sad that she didn't write the book completely by herself but I don't know what her schedule is like and her ability to write. I wouldn't even have a story to give anyone in order for them to write a book.

At the same time, I have even more respect for the workaholics out there maintaining a busy schedule and also writing a book like Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart and now, Mamrie Hart.

If you don't know what I'm referring to, I point you in the direction of this concise Buzzfeed article.

In conclusion, show support for people that inspire you. Sometimes politics will be involved. I choose to be naive about all of that crap. You can do what you want.

Go Vote!

Here's a video to inspire you to vote and also dance while you're voting...

Here's a video representing a man who doesn't see women as equal. A very important reason I am voting in the midterms is Women's Rights.

Here's a video helping you to find your voting location.

Here's a video of celebs and normal people lip singing to a popular song that should inspire you to vote especially if Tavi makes your rethink all of the successes you may or may not have had as a teenage because she's better than you and me. Or, just me.

Go vote and stuff...

GRWM Vids

Currently obsessing over "Get Ready With Me" videos on YouTube.

I like knowing what people are up to and how they look so put together all of the time.

I made a GRWM for football season or what the beauty gurus are referring to as "fall" or "autumn."

Happy Tubing!

A Little Wine with My Whine

I'm boldly putting this phrase on the Internet. I think it's going to be my new segment on YouTube. Hazel has Tipsy Talk and Ashley has Beer And A Chat and Taryn has Internet Therapy, often accompanied by a glass of wine, so I needed something where I could have a beverage and speak candidly.

So here's my phrase I guess for those times where I give a little more of myself to the Internet without just listing off favorite things or how-to tips.

I need a graphic. I don't have Photoshop so we'll see what kind of Paint Frame I can dream up for this deal.

More to come...

Not Too Deep: Grace Helbig has a Podcast

You're Mondays just got UPGRADED!! Yesterday, Grace Helbig announced that she has been making a podcast AND it is audio and visual. Every Monday, there will be an audio podcast and then on her YouTube channel, there will be the visual portion. The visual portion is going to be YouTube challenges made dumber. Basically, this is magical. YouTubers have gotten creative with new challenges to do with their friends because vlogging is only so entertaining. Watching people do challenges on YouTube is like watching a game show that can actually keep my attention. Most of the time, these challenges are only a few minutes long.

Here are some of my favorites:

Louise of SprinkleofGlitter and Alfie make each other laugh.

Alfie tries to annoy Louise.

Tyler and Miranda Sings do the photobooth challenge.

Grace and Sawyer Hartman try to keep a straight face while reading "50 Shades of Grey."

Marcus and Tyler do impressions.

Zoey and Miranda do the 7 Second Challenge.

Grace and Shane Dawson guess the YouTuber.

I put them all in a playlist. I'll probably add to the playlist as I locate all of the magical challenges there have been. There are so many. They're great. If you like competition, you should watch these.

So, subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or on Soundcloud so your ears can be entertained while you pretend to work at work. :)

You're welcome.

"My Drunk Kitchen" from YouTube to A BOOK!!!

I am so extremely excited for Hannah Hart's book that will be arriving via the Amazon Fairy at my door this evening. This angel has delighted me with YouTube video after video as well as pun after pun. If you have not watched her series, you should. It'll make you take things a little less seriously, have some fun if you will.

A user on Tumblr posted this series and I have recreated it here because it is very exciting. I mean, she wrote a book. She took two things she loves, learned basics of Internetting and now is an author. Cheers to you, Hannah!

Y'all, it's so exciting.

One of my favorite MDKs

Hannah has a lot of passion for people as well as cooking. I enjoy her positive attitude as well as her ability to encourage everyone around her to dream dreams.

"Be the person you want to be, not the person you think you have to be."

Now off to buy a bottle of wine!

#SUMMERBREAK

I finally caught up on Summer Break. For those of you not in the know, it's a series on YouTube that follows around some teens in southern California and it is CRAY.

before our crew hits the road, we tweet #x to pause the conversation until we arrive. don’t text & drive #itcanwait

Basically, short 5 to 15 minute episodes are posted online and in between these postings, social media events are taking place. The kids are on Twitter and Insta and Snapchat interacting and reacting to whatever episode was just posted. Obviously, there are a lot of behind the back conversations that occur and then they find out and shit hits the fan.

It's even more intriguing because in this world of technology, these kids are basically forced to have face-to-face conversations about their issues for the series instead of only being passive-aggressive on Twitter.

I love it. I wish I had their balls. They are brave. They are also real, real dumb. And whiney. And typical high school kids.

Are you hooked? Does it remind you of "Laguna Beach" like maybe a little bit? I think it's the nostalgia of it that hooked me last summer and it is the drama that has kept me coming back for more!

Fifty Shades of Mockingjay

San Diego Comic Con was last weekend. With that, comes great responsibility. Just kidding. It just means things got published to the Internet after they were revealed at the conference. Comic Con is on my bucket list right behind VidCon because YouTube is my first love.

BUT FIRST, the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trailer dropped on Thursday. I did read the first book. After being annoyed by sentence structure and ridiculous dialogue, I gave up even trying to read the other two books in the series. Evidently, the next two books contain more intrigue and drama if you can make it that far. The saving grace for this movie is that the screenplay wasn't written by E.L. James, it was written by Kelly Marcel who (according to IMDB) was a writer for "Saving Mr. Banks" and "Tera Nova." What is the only reason to see this movie? Jamie. Dornan. Am I right?

Now, one of the reasons I brought up Comic Con, the next installment of "The Hunger Games," Katniss is back to fight injustice. The "Mockingjay" trailer premiered at the conference and the reaction is a resounding HELL YES. MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR, PRESIDENT SNOW. Also, PSH is featured in the trailer which tugs at my heart strings and the whole thing gave me goosebumps. I love action. I love strong female heros. I can't wait for this movie!!!

And now the other reason I brought up Comic Con, so many things were revealed about GoT. The cast was there. Maisie Williams (Arya) walked around in a dress made of graphic novels. She also walked around in a Spider-Man mask. The GoT Instagram captured all of the cast with their figurines. HBO also announced the cast for Season 5 which I haven't read the books so I'm completely unprepared. It looks like a whole other family gets in to the mix which will add some drama to the existing characters. Best of all, HBO released the blooper reel below from Season 4. It's hard being an actor is a really dark series. Sometimes you need to laugh and make jokes. :)

Since when is Hilary Duff making music again? I had no idea. My best friend alerted me to it this morning. Here is our review of the music video:
Best Friend: Who am I? I just watched the new Hilary Duff music video by choice!
Me: Oh my gosh. I'm on it.
BF: Lol
Me: I love Hilary.
BF: I know.
Me: She still has a child voice, that's kinda disappointing.
BF: Yes she does. Though it made me think of Sheryl Crow.
Me: I love when she smacked into the glass office. Yeah, very Sheryl Crow.

I guess Hilary Duff wanted to give us a summer anthem. I'll take it. I'll probably watch the video 10 more times before the day is over. Not because I'm bored, I just genuinely like her.

What's your summer anthem? Who do you wish you could splash around in the ocean with?
