up late...

so it's really late and i'm still up. i'm normally in my bed by this time dreaming about a handsome prince that comes to rescue me from my mundane life of being a college student. actually my life isn't too mundane. it has its perks and its moments of grandeur. oh yes. such moments would include my first football game, the rose bowl trip, posse, and many other little things. so for those of you that do not know, i took my pharmacy technician certification test over spring break. it's so i can be paid like 12 dollars an hour instead of 6.50. i'm actually going to try and work over the summer which will be new for me b/c i've never had to apply for a job in my life. it should be interesting that's all i'm saying. damn. matt wertz is playing in austin on friday and i really want to go but everyone has something. :( the normal matt wertz fanatics are going to be at younglife getting placed at their high schools so that they can educate austin's teenagers on jesus' love. :) happy times. i wish that i could have done younglife. i miss you guys. AND shelby has stuff to do. :( maybe i need to find another new friend that likes good music to go with. OH MAN. i just got an idea on who i could go with. brilliant. i think minesweeper needs to be taken off of my computer in order for me to live a normal interactive life. i'm totally absorbed. you know it's bad when minesweeper and tetris start appearing in your dreams. weird. here's something weird as well, today tetris DISAPPEARED from my calculator. :( that makes me sad. i must mourn my tetris. it was the only good thing about biology class. i know i'm rambling but i can't help it. i had coffee way toooooooo late for me and now i'm up and you get to read about it, that is if you are still reading this. i'm listening to coldplay right now and it makes me happy that real musician still have a chance in the music industry these days. i haven't listened to coldplay in a while so it's nice to bring them back. i love doing that. like last week i went through a dave matthews phase and it was soo refreshing. today i laid out for the first time. it was sooo hot outside and i felt my skin frying. i love that feeling. hehe. maybe i'll actually get tan this summer and actually run and stay inshape. that would be a MIRACLE. it's my goal. ok i guess that's enough random shit for the night. i hope that everyone has a happy thursday b/c i know i will. :) peace out.

some thoughts

some thoughts from my long, horrible monday....

-having a room on the east side of the bldg when the sun gets up way earlier than i would like to get up, sucks
-learning how Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra work in biology class b/c my prof is CRAZY is kinda neat
-breaking a volumetric graduated pipette is not a smart move during chem. lab
-i actually enjoy studying for my bio test, i think it's interesting. i know i'm a nerd.

here are 5 songs everyone should listen to once b/c they are awesome:

1. Until You - Dave Barnes
2. Counting to 100 - Matt Wertz
3. Southern Girl - Incubus
4. Wild Horses - Rolling Stones
5. The Luckiest - Ben Folds Five

and as a bonus My 1st Song - Jay-Z.

I like a wide variety of music.

i hope everyone's monday wasn't as long as mine was and maybe you actually got to enjoy the outdoors instead of a chemistry lab with a TA that is your typical science nerd. :)

question

Why would God make us all so different if he wanted us to be the same? - Mary from "Saved!"

a movie that makes you think and question things b/c you only learn something when you have questions about it. or at least that's what i think. and that ladies and gentlemen is my deep thought for the day.

it's raining outside...

well recently there has been a lot of drama in other people's lives that i've gotten to listen too. is it the season or something?? i think that there has been more couple drama this month than all of last semester (at least around me.) i've found it rather difficult to know what to say when someone comes to me and talks about their drama. i mean what do you say to "i think he wants to break up" or "it's really difficult to know what he's thinking b/c he doesn't express himself." do you say..."oh that sucks, you can do better." no. that's not what you say b/c chances are, she wants to be with HIM and ONLY HIM and to her, there is NOONE else in the world. rar. i don't want to look like an idiot b/c i have no clue how to respond but i also don't want to say something offensive. i'm guessing the best thing to do is to just listen and give them a hug when you think the time is right. i really should ask calvin these questions b/c he is the one person i know that has dealt with A LOT of couple drama over the years. i don't know how you do it man, but damn, you have my respect for putting up with other people's shit and keeping it to yourself for the most part. hrmm..

anyway it really sucks that it was 80 degrees and beautiful yesterday and today it's raining. :( really puts a damper on a saturday.

i'm kinda sad that i didn't go home for the weekend to spend easter with the family but at the same time i'm happy for some alone time and some much needed time with my biology and chemistry book. i have a test on tuesday and it doesn't help me that i haven't paid attention to a single lecture in that class. oh wait that's a lie. i paid attention to the lecture on sexual reproduction. not b/c sex was involved, but b/c i didn't have chemistry hw to do during it.

i kinda feel like watching "saved."

i ate at dirty's today for lunch. greasy. very greasy but also very tasty. the cheerleading championship competition was on espn and we were quite intrigued mainly by their disgusting outfits but also b/c of the cool stunts. i always wanted to be a flyer. being thrown high into the air by a huge guy would be pretty cool. unfortunately that will never happen. i missed my chance at being a cheerleader b/c i was a tom boy in my younger years. nothing but soccer shorts and t-shirts to school. wow. what a cool kid. j/k.

well i guess that's enough random thoughts from me for the day. have a wonderfully exciting saturday night!

spring time

wow spring break....just what i needed.

parts of spring break that rocked:
-going to the lake
-getting to see friends
-someone finally coming to their senses
-family time

parts that sucked:
-having a sinus infection
-studying and taking a test
-the cold
-not seeing my longhorn friends :(
-coming back to a chemistry lab write-up

oh well....i think the good outweighs the bad. :) happy times for all.

oh wow

tonight i watched "almost famous" for the first time. wow. i was really impressed. i really really liked it. it rekindled my love and respect for amazing rock music that has shaped rock music today. great bands like led zeppelin, pink floyd, the guess who, the allman brothers, the rolling stones, the who, and yes, even elton john. damn. now i've got all my classic rock queued up on itunes. i feel like i should be smokin' a joint and dancing around on my toes. what a great feeling. wow. i was just so happy that i had to write about it. much love. :-*

p.s. i wish i were as cool as kate hudson too. i love that girl.

happy sunday!

happy sunday! it's really pretty outside today and that makes me a happy camper. the whole week has kinda looked like death outside. yesterday especially because of the rain. when it's nice outside, it compels me to stay awake and be productive. wow. what a fun weekend. this weekend was way better than last weekend. now, you get a recap b/c it's the easiest way to write a lot. :)

thursday- first of all, we did not have band. i only had psychology and that class is interesting. so i had the whole afternoon to do whatever. b/c it was yucky outside, i took a nap. i love naps. they are the best things in the whole world. when you wake up, everything is better. ok then tv night. the o.c. was freakin awesome. predictable, but awesome. oh seth cohen. you crack me up. alright, then i went to posse. posse was cool b/c the table was seperated with old gourds at one end and new ones at the other end. kinda weird to see how it would be in a few years. i love those guys. paul looked like he had rolled out of bed. his hair was absolutely ridiculous, but it was funny. we talked about basketball and the recent nba tradings that went on. i really don't follow the nba so needless to say, i just listened. basketball really isn't my thing. the only sport i follow even a little bit is college football, but i am nowhere near as knowledgable as some of those guys are. then all the new guys left and i stayed to talk to homer. travis, a ut alumn, was there and his stories are hilarious. i've heard stories about him too that are just as crazy. that was fun.

friday- homer had a "big lebowski" party b/c blake has never seen the movie. we drank white russians and watched the movie. i must say i got a little worried when joseph walked in and stephanie was already there, but they were civil to each other so i guess things are okay or at least they appear to be okay.

saturday- i went and saw grace's boyfriend jay swim in the 5A state meet. he's a good little swimmer but the competition is just sooo much greater than what he's used to i think. it really sucks that last year pearce was 4A and won like everything and now that they're 5A, every sport is suffering at least maybe a little bit. well maybe not gymnastics, they are always awesome. anyway, i talked to jay's mom for a while. that was lovely. i then came back to srd and watched ou stomp baylor in basketball. thank goodness we won against mizzou. anyway, katelyn left for waco to watch her cousin's show. so i fell asleep. i was tired. i slept for like 4 hours. i then made an executive decision to go to roger creager with kevin, josh, and jenna. josh and jenna perplex me. he is seriously the most whipped guy in the world. kevin was cool. the concert was fun. we were like 4 of maybe 20 underage people so that part sucked. at midnight rodeo, they have girls walk around with like shot holsters. they wear belts that hold 5 liquor bottles and have shot glasses on another belt like thingy. it was very neat and i was intrigued. creager put on an excellent show. i wish that i knew more of his songs but i'm a slacker when it comes to country music. after the concert we swung by blake's party. parties look differently when you aren't drunk. stephie was drunk but coherent so that's good. it was good to see both him and blake b/c i never see them anymore. :( alright then kevin and i jetted out and went to san jac where i barged in on james's little shin-dig. they were watching "out cold" which is a stupid but hilarious movie. i've actually seen it three times which is two times more than a person should see a movie like that. oh well it's cool. i hadn't seen james in a while so it was good to see him. he's such a goober.

so today is sunday and i have a chem lab write-up to do. yippee. i'm so excited. can't you tell by my obvious waste of time by writing all this crap. i also slept until 1 which i never do. oh well. i feel like i should go running in this beautiful weather but again, i'm lazy so i'll be staying inside and doing chemistry. my passion. j/k. it needs to become my passion though b/c of all the chemistry classes i have in my future. alright that's enough babble. oscars tonight. chris rock hosting should be interesting. love that guy.

p.s. i heard "man of the house" was good so now i have more motivation than just the fact that i could see people i know in it. hooray.

why?

why?

why do i want what i can't have?

why do people let me down?

why am i intimidated by people whose opinions really don't matter to me?

sorry. those are questions that i've been asking myself recently. i can't get over stuff and i can't let stuff go. my mind tends to wander and go back to situations or relationships that were not the best for me. it's like i dwell on stuff that i can't change and i know it's bad, but yet i do it anyway. what's up with that? it keeps me up at night. my brain tries to figure out why i didn't do a certain thing in a situation or say a certain thing. a little after the fact i know. i wish i could let go of these things and move on but i guess it's just not possible. the past has a tendency to shape our future you could say. it's trials and rough times that shape who you are today. i don't know if that is total bullshit but i guess it applies. i might just be saying all of this b/c i'm so tired from only having 2 hours of sleep before my bitch of a monday. i'm a little bitter.

blah..

i love thursdays and this thursday was no exception. we learned about sleep in psychology which was really interesting. i never thought that i would like anything psychology related but i'm really enjoying it. it's a new perspective on science that i thought i wouldn't be able to understand b/c i thought that it was all like analyzing situations and shit, but that's really not it at all. that was probably the longest run-on sentence ever. oh well. deal with it. so then band rolled around and that was livable. i think that considering that we had like 6 rehearsals to learn a pretty complicated piece (key wise and rhythm wise) we've done really well. yes i played the piece in high school or whatever, but to be able to play this piece like an ensemble with so few rehearsals, impressive. i enjoy sitting next to thurston considering my other option for conversation is kelley. kelley is in her own little world of craziness. then time for posse. i got there right at the end of the potheads meeting. for those of you that don't know...potheads is a drumline ensemble that they perform at texas revue which is our talent show. there are like 3 clips on the texastenors website. sometimes i feel kinda left out of drumline activities b/c i'm not in drumline. :( but at the same time i get the best part of the drumline, the people without all of the extra work. :) i admire all of the drumliners. i wish i could play drums. the closest i ever got to drumline was playing the cowbell when i broke my wrist. ANYWAY, posse was fun. bryan was there and he's never there so it was nice to talk to him. i think i scare paul btw.

friday was a wonderful friday except for having to write a timed-writing thing in history over a book we had to read. i was really glad that i took time to read that book or i would have been screwed. :) oh and thanks to sparknotes.com as well b/c without their in depth analysis, i would not have understood a thing i read. so then my mommy is in town to play with her sorority sisters and she took katelyn and i to lunch. we went to magnolia cafe. tasty treats. it's always nice to see my mom. friday night i went and saw the vagina monologues with shelby and her suite mate arielle. that was an interesting show. funny at times and sad at times. it would have made any of my guy friends VERY uncomfortable. i heard the word "vagina" more that night then i think i had in my lifetime. that's probably not true but it could be close. then shelby and i hung out with thurston. cool kid. it's nice to see him outside of band.

well the weekend isn't over but this blog is. THE END

funny stuff

so today has been an excellent day thus far. i woke up early to study for biology and actually studied. i learned all about cyanobacteria and how it evolved into what we now know as plants. yeah. it's really exciting stuff and i'm sure you wanted to know that. then i went to psychology and found out that there was a curve on the test so i made a B. YES!! Dr. Lewis then started talking about hypnosis and how crazy it all started out. At first i wasn't really into it but then to see how it evolved and how stupid people are and how they believe the most ridiculous things, that was pretty neat. He then hypnotized us which was really just allowing us to relax and not think about all the stress in our lives. so yeah. band wasn't too bad today. i love going to band for the sole purpose of seeing my friends. this semester has been weird in that sense b/c people i saw like four times a week, i never see at all now. :( i really miss ashleigh and eric and my chris magee hugs. today we got carnations that people sent to their friends for valentine's day or whatever. i got one from shelby and ashleigh and sarah snyder. gotta love my girls. my biology test went well for those of you that care. hah. i knew a lot more than i thought i did which is always nice.

so what happens at srd when it's about 80 degrees with the sun out in february? oh, it's time to bring out that bikini and go sit by the pool. yes that's right. everyone is down by the pool getting some sun. thought you guys might want to get in on the action. j/k.

peace out.

p.s. it smells like chocolate covered strawberries in my room for some reason. it's a little strange. i don't know whether i like it or it's giving me a headache.

mondays...

well....happy valentine's day to everyone. (even those of us who aren't currently attached to anyone.) valentine's day is always fun though. chocolate covered strawberries and people sending people tiff's treats. yum. i love chocolate chip cookies. they are definitely my weakness.

so mondays are normally the day from hell, but today wasn't so bad. i have chemistry at 9 and i actually stayed awake today and listened b/c i need to do SUPER well on the next test. then biology which, i didn't listen to at all. i know everything that lady is saying b/c i had it in anatomy in high school. i just hope that there aren't any great surprises on her test tomorrow or i'm screwed. royally screwed. then i went to history and was pleasantly surprised by the movie we got to watch instead of listening to a lecture. score. i actually like history which i always thought that i didn't like but i think that's because in high school...i associated MASSIVE AMOUNTS of busy work and group projects with history. college...not so much. so hooray for that. so classes over at 12 and i ate my sandwich for lunch. exciting i know. then my chem lab. it was an easy lab and we got out in an hour. THANK YOU GOD! i hate being in there for more than and hour and a half. seriously...it's like death. but on the downside for today...i accidently got some random chemical on my finger and now it's stained a lovely shade of brown. :(

my treat for today...katelyn went to olive garden with some people and is bringing me back fettecini alfredo with chicken. yum. more rich food to add to the overload of sugar i ate this weekend. oh...corey got katelyn an autographed cd from matt wertz. pretty tight. i'm jealous. i love matt wertz.

on that note...i'm done.

something new

so i decided that i needed somewhere to post my thoughts that wasn't livejournal. i've said goodbye to livejournal b/c that was an old part of my life that needs to go away and what better way to start over new than with a new blogspot. :) i just have too many things to say and ramble on about that i couldn't take it anymore. who knows if anyone will actually read this, because i'm not putting a link to it in anything, but yeah. i just feel better having my own space. so where to start. i think i'll recap my uneventful weekend for starters.

friday: friday sucked. class sucked and i felt like crap. the whole week leading up to friday sucked too and it probably would have been better had i gone to posse on thursday but it seemed like the WORLD all had tests on friday so noone was going. so that threw my weekend off. i always look forward to thursday nights, the best television and posse. posse is like my retreat. my retreat from the box i live in where i can listen to older people talk about crazy times from years ago. stephen price tells the best stories when he is a little tipsy. his laugh is the greatest and madwin always supports him. they are soo cute. i'm so envious of what they have. i'm envious of what all good relationships have i guess. oh man...so i got way off topic. back to friday. katelyn had to go to something so i stayed in and took a shower and painted my toenails. they're pink now. soo pretty. :) ok so then i thought that we were going over to kinsolving to watch "the notebook" with elise but it turned out that we had to make a chili's run with some other girls (natalie, carly, ally, and boys...daniel, michael and andrew.) i was completely embarassed b/c i had sweatpants on but i got over that. i had been craving chili's queso so it was a really good thing that we went. after we got back....it was time for "the notebook." such a good movie. it still touches me how much two people can love each other. it inspires me and gives me hope that there is someone out there that can love me as much as noah loved ally. it just wows me. so then we went to sleep.

saturday: i slept for far to long and would have slept longer had shelby not called me and made me get up to eat lunch. i love that girl. it's nice to have a girlfriend who has relatively the same opinions about a lot of things that i do. i don't really get along with girls very well. i'm either intimidated by them or i would like to think that some of them are intimidated by me. :) i can dream, can't i? so i went to lunch with shelby and her friend russel. russel is a really sweet guy that goes to tech. he's awesome and i'm glad that i got to meet him. lunch was awesome. kerby lane. that's all that has to be said. we actually won the basketball game on saturday so that's pretty freakin' awesome. so katelyn finally woke up around 330. hah. she had pulled an allnighter on thursday so it was understandable. the girl was tired. needless to say we chilled saturday night and went to bed reasonably early. watched harry potter 3. my favorite book, but not necessarily my favorite movie of the series, but that's a whole other issue.

sunday: woke up and started playing catch up with my hw. i didn't really have a lot, it's just harder to do when i'm distracted. i know two people who ran the freescale marathon, wendy and matt. i saw wendy afterwards and she looks like she's going to be sore for the next week at least so i'm thinking matt is the same way. i wish i could run 26.2 miles but that's just not going to happen in the near future. the weather today was so beautiful. it was about 70 degrees and the sun was out and it was just beautiful. i actually took the book i have to read for history and found a nice place outside to read it. AND when i was walking to campus the tower was playing songs and played "castle on a cloud" from les miserables and then played "all i ask of you" from phantom of the opera. i was surprised that i actually recognized the songs but whatever. i watched parts of the grammy's tonight and my favorite part was when usher performed. quite a dancer that boy. mmmhmm.

ok well i guess i should stop typing now. y'all have a good day.
